Bitterroot Valley Lifestyle

The Bitterroot Valley is located just south of Missoula, Montana which is the hub of Western Montana with an international airport and home to The University of Montana.  The valley is widely recognized for it’s Rocky Mountain locale with picturesque mountain ranges which surround the valley with public forest and wilderness lands, moderate climate and almost limitless recreational activities including: fishing/floating the Bitterroot River and it’s many tributaries,  big game hunting and viewing,  hiking/backpacking, horse back riding (many local arenas are open to the public plus back country opportunities) and exploring the almost endless trails and roads in the vast public forests and wilderness areas surrounding the valley as well as practically everything else that Western Montana and the Rocky Mountains have to offer. The Stock Farm Club, a private golf community developed by Charles Schwab is located east of Hamilton. A small public airport near Hamilton accomodates private aircraft. Two public golf courses are located in Hamilton and Stevensville. Winter opportunities include snowmobiling, alpine/Nordic skiing and snowboarding. Lost Trail Powder Mountain is the very popular, local ski area which typically receives some of the best powder snow in the state.
